Cake Boss Buddy Valastro reopens his Italian restaurant at the Palazzo after a renovation that started on June 22.
The chef is recovering from an accident in his family’s New Jersey home on Sunday that injured his right hand. Valastro, who shared a photo of himself in the hospital with his injured hand in traction on Instagram. A representative for Valastro tells People that the accident occurred in the family’s bowling alley. “There was a malfunction with the bowling pinsetter, a common fix in the past, but it turned into a terrible accident,” the magazine reports. “A metal rod repeatedly impaled his hand three times between his ring finger and middle finger.”
In Las Vegas, the revamped Buddy V’s Ristorante offers menu updates, new hours, and a new happy hour.
Valastro unveiled new vegetarian options such as roasted vegetable, tomato, and basil with rigatoni; porcini whipped potatoes; and Tuscan-style broccolini. Nightly specials from executive chef Bryan Forgione include porchetta, cioppino, and renditions of gnocchi.
Happy hour returns to the bar and lounge, as well as the indoor patio from 4 to 6 p.m. daily with $6 ricotta cheese, Grandma’s meatballs, prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella sticks, Roma-style gnocchi, Hoboken chicken wings, meatballs, and eggplant parm. Domestic bottled beer, red and white house wine, Prosecco, and sangria are also available for $5 each.
The restaurant also has a kids eat free deal every Sunday and Monday, where children 10 and under can order spaghetti and meatballs, fettucine alfredo, spaghetti Bolognese, or chicken tenders and fries with purchase of adult entrée. Kids will also receive a souvenir light up cup with their meal.
Other new deals include 50 percent off all bottles of wine on Wednesdays, a 25 percent discount to all locals with valid Nevada ID, as well as a free cannoli with purchase of an entrée. Essential workers and first responders visiting the restaurant can get 25 percent off the total bill. Buddy V’s is also now available for delivery through Uber Eats, Postmates, DoorDash, and GrubHub, as well is pickup at the restaurant.
Buddy V’s marked Valastro’s first venture in the restaurant world. He also has Carlo’s Bake Shoppe at the Venetian and PizzaCake at Harrah’s Las Vegas.
