The fever for soccer star Lionel Messi’s appearance in D-FW has already reached local Argentinian restaurants preparing to welcome fans and celebrate the occasion with some food and drink specials.

This Sunday, Aug. 6, Messi and his team, Inter Miami, will play against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, and these restaurants don’t want to disappoint fans of the man who is considered the best soccer player in the world.

Chimichurri Argentinian Bistro & Bar, at 324 W. Seventh St. in Dallas, will feature the player’s favorite dish: Milanesa Napolitana, a plate of breaded steak dipped in tomato sauce accompanied by ham, sliced tomato, and mozzarella cheese and served with seasoned fries.

Chimichurri also created a new cocktail for the occasion. The Messi Cocktail is made with Tito’s vodka, Amaro Montenegro, lemon juice, strawberry syrup, and edible rose glitter to make it pink like the soccer player’s Inter Miami uniform.

“We’ll be offering this dish because I know it’s the one his mom always cooks for him,” said Jesus Carmona, owner of Chimichurri. “We want everyone to feel proud that Messi is coming to the Dallas area, and here we will be waiting for them to eat or to enjoy the game.”

One of its owners, Sidiclei Demartini, said he is ready to cook for Messi if he decides to dine at his restaurant.

“We are ready to cook for Messi because if he is looking to feel at home, this is where he should come,” Demartini said. “I returned from retirement to be ready if he wants to attend our invitation.”

This place will also welcome fans who want to watch the game while enjoying a very Argentinean dinner.
