• Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry had a birthday on Sunday, March 14, and to celebrate, Chase Center pastry chef Bianca Montijo designed a cake for him in the shape of a bucket of popcorn. Apparently, Curry loves popcorn so much that he samples the treat at every arena the team plays in. [Twitter]
• Sonoma and Contra Costa counties entered the “red” tier of the state’s color-coded reopening plan on on Sunday, March 14. This allows restaurants in those counties to open indoor dining at 25 percent capacity and a maximum of 100 people. Keep up with all the changes to restaurant restrictions here.
• Pitmaster Matt Horn, of Oakland’s Horn Barbecue, announced that he has a burger joint on the way named Matty’s Old-Fashioned. According to the Instagram page, this will “change the burger game.” [SF Chronicle]
• Malaysian restaurant Mahila, located in Noe Valley, has closed due to a “failed negotiation” with the landlord of the building at 1320 Castro Street. [Hoodline]
